My Approach
Turning bank refusal into proof and institutional strength Divine built SECURICO in a sector where banks questioned whether a woman-led business could go far. The company now provides integrated security solutions, combining on-site guards with technology-led inter ventions tailored to client needs. Alongside this, her farming business, Zvikomborero Farms, brings another lens to growth finance: agriculture, risk and long- term operational planning. Across both businesses, Divine’s financing philosophy is clear: build a strong product or ser vice first, create real demand, and let performance make the business case clear for funders and partners. Build the foundation yourself Her start-up funding began with bootstrapping and organic growth. In security, banks would not consider lending because the business was in a male-dominated sector and they doubted her staying power. A micro-loan from a woman-led company helped, but most early growth came from self-belief, reinvestment and proving ser vice quality. When the formal system said no, Divine focused on building the foundations that later made funders pay attention and recognise the opportunity.
