Ndhlukula to increase beef production 400%

CHIKOMBA – Zimbabwe’s top livestock farmer, Dr Divine Simbi Ndulukula is working on increasing beef production at her Zvikomborero Farm in Chikomba District by 400% from 4t to 20t a month, a field day held at the farm last week was told.

The traditional field day was held at the farm after she was adjudged the Overall Livestock Farmer of the year at the August 2025 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare.
The 20t target is to be achieved within 24 months under the farm’s business model called from farm to fork.
Ndhlukula who runs a 1 000 cattle herd on a 500 hectare farm decided to increase production tonnage after considering high demand and wide profit margins from the beef business. The steep increase will ride on the back of increased cattle fattening, said Ndhlukula.
“Our beef tonnage currently stands at 4t and we are increasing that to 20t in 24 months. We will achieve this through increased cattle fattening and expansion of fattening lots. This means in addition to cattle slaughter from our farm, we buy steers from other farmers and fatten them in our cattle feedlots.
“Our business model is integrated along the livestock value chain. We breed, we pen-fatten, we process through partner abattoirs and distribute our meat products through our butchery in Harare, with our primary focus being commercial customers.” said Ndhlukula.
Zvikomborero Farm deals in super beef, the best meat grade. The meat is sold through a center in Harare either through wholesale or retail.
The farm is located about 120km from Harare along the Harare–Masvingo Highway.
